Check out the hunting theme Pike spinners. These were made as prize donations for the HuntingPA.com 2010 buck contests.
The blades are #5 willows and strung with the clevis, followed by two small bearing beads. A bullet weight preceeds the .308 caliber brass casing. 3/16 solid nickel beads are strung for the casing's length to add weight and cause noise against the brass during a retrieve.
I polished some old casings with jewelers rouche and then drilled a hole thru the primer to get it to string on to the spinners wire. Once strung, I added a glass trailer bead and twisted on a hand-tied bucktail on a #2 treble hook.
These turned out pretty nice, if I say so myself. Some lucky hunter in Pennsylvania should be pleased.
