This is a response to a writing prompt from OBN - My favorite Outdoor Food.

This one's a simple 4 ingredient tummy warmer - best for early or late season camping when the nighttime temps are low. No pictures available, use your imagination!

Bag of Fritos (the small ones, not the Scoops)
Can of Vegetarian Chili
Diced raw onions
Shredded Cheddar

Open can of chili - warm can on campfire or campstove
Divide bag of Fritos into two bowls.
Divide the Chili over the two bowls
Add onions and/or cheese as you see fit

Enjoy. Good late dinner snack for early or late season camping when the nightime temperatures dropping and still nippy.

Extremely Toasted Oats

Here's a quick easy snack to try. 8 minutes to make, tastes great. It's kind of like chex mix, but less precise, 4 easy to come by ingredients = easier, IMO.

The beauty of this one is if you want more or less of any ingredient, its real easy to get to your outcome.

Involves just four ingredients; Butter, Worcestershire Sauce, Cheerio's and Salt of your choice.

This is an electric stove scenario - you gas rangers may need to make a few test runs.

Melt 1/2 a stick of butter in a high rimmed fry pan, then turn up up to medium high.

Add about 1/2 cup Worchstershire sauce to the melting butter and heat them up about a minute. The sauce will bubble and smell pungently aromatic (real good).

Then dump a bunch of cheerio's on top the simmering butter sauce, enough cherrio's to cover the bottom and sides of pan to about one and a half inches deep. If things are getting too fast, turn the heat down to medium.

Quickly stir and flip to blend the soaked cheerios into the batch, as the sauce is sucked up and absorbed. Each cherrio seems to have its own limit on how much sauce it will tolerate, so forget about a consistency, try to see how many different sized cheerios you can get!

Turn up the heat to medium high and stir and flip frequently for awhile to continue to get the mix blended.

After around 3-5 minutes, about 1/4 the cheerios's should have shrank and turned dark brown, some to the point of looking burnt which makes it tricky. They might be burnt, if so, turn down the heat. They taste pretty good in either state, btw.

Turn off the burner, let it cool a bit, add a salt of your choice and check it out.

Extremely Toasted Oats improve with age. If you leave any around til morning, that is.

Cherrio's are a good thing to keep in the cupboard.

Black Lugworms for Sea Trout

Black Lugworm - about 10 inches in length. Fishermen harvest them in low tide with sand pumps.

Sea Trout - 2-3 feet in length. Fishermen harvest them in surf and sounds.

Fish Creek Lugworm imitation - 6 inches long. Three propellers - black nickel beads - black zonker trailer - zonker strung on long shank offset bait hook, then anchored to spinner with a small lip hook. Offset bait hook will twist causing fluid zonker to behave and act wormlike. Will it work?

First imitation, that is! An acquaintance in Denmark asked for this version. Second version will be heavier, using black bullets around the propellers rather then the beads and an inch or two longer.

Dream Destination - Sea Trout fishing in Denmark AND

There's lots of places I'd like to go fishing. More I don't even know about.

One destination would be to go to Denmark and go Sea Trout fishing. An online customer from Denmark (Lars) sends me pictures of sea trout he's caught on our Fire Ant spinner.

Based on Lars testimonials and my web searches, Denmark looks like it'sTrout and Salmon fishing is remarkable.

Night Sea Trout Fishing in Denmark. That sounds like fun.

Well, wait a minute! Closer to where I grew up.

Lake Superior is amazingly beautiful. Another dream destination would be going back to the Wisconsin shore of Lake Superior.

No wait, Thousand Islands New York sound intriguing

Have another customer on Finger Lake in Castlegar, British Columbia, Another dream destination.

So many dreams, so little time. Marie and I need a road trip,, soon.

Can we reset the clock and be 18 again?

I'm seeing a couple anonymous comments and this will be a problem if more show up. I cant contact those parties to notify a winner. and keeping track of them and alternate IDs will be a pain.

Pack of Glass Armadillos

This model Armadillo spinner uses alot of faceted glass.

Glass is made from sand, highly reflective and available in an almost endless variety of colors.

The glass is well protected by metal discs. The discs contact the spinners blade during rotation, not only making vibration, but also acting as mini friction brakes against the glass beads. As the blade rotates and contacts the discs, the discs begin to rotate as well, in turn, causing the glass to rotate and reflect light penetrating the water.

That's a pretty interesting multi-media intruder getting a fish's attention. Even most big fish haven't seen one of these before.

Love this spinner model; F102,F110,F113,F114,F117,F118,F119,F125 are a few of my many favorites to fish. Armadillo MVP goes to F102 or F118.

Here's a few pictures of the glass colors we have available. The spinners rest on top of a chunk of marble we collected during a visit to Marble, Colorado. Same marble used on the Washington D.C. monuments.

A visit to the mine is a pretty amazing adventure by itself, just ignore the several thousand breath taking views to get there!

Sweet Zonkers

These zonker tied spinnerbaits are working on bass, pike, muskie and trout.

They're hand wrapped by Ben. I do the blade work and packaging. The main blades are ball bearing swivel attached with a dual lock clasp to enable blade changes.
